Terms & conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully as these conditions incorporate the basis on which bookings for Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa is accepted. The Terms & Conditions below are for bookings made directly via the Hotels’ website.

By using this Site, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

We may revise these terms & conditions from time to time by updating this posting. The revised terms will take effect when they are posted. Your use of some parts or features of the Site may be governed by additional terms and conditions. Where this is the case you will be notified accordingly of those additional terms and conditions.

MONTE DO GIESTAL SERVICES

Early Check-Out

The property reserves the right to charge an early departure fee in the event a guest departs earlier than the original departure date.

Late Check-Out

On request. Please contact the Front Office. Additional fees may be applied.

Guarantee Policy

A valid Credit Card required at booking time.

Deposit Policy

A deposit may be required.

Cancellation Policy

Each rate booked at Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa, is subject to a Cancellation Policy. Failure to check in on the reserved arrival date will incur a penalty charge as detailed in the Cancellation Policy of the rate booked. We reserve the right to cancel or modify reservations under the circumstances where it appears that a customer has provided an invalid credit card, engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity, or the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error. In addition, we also reserve the right to cancel or amend bookings if they do not adhere to our terms & conditions. If a guest chooses to shorten their stay or check out early, a penalty charge will apply, as detailed in the Cancellation Policy associated with the rate booked. In the cases of the aforementioned booking cancellations, Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa has no obligation to guarantee new available bookings or best rates. A new booking at the best available rate will need to be made by the guest at the time of the new reservation.

As a condition of using this website, you agree to provide proof of payment to the hotel reservations department within 24 hours of the time of booking and will indicate the reservation confirmation number on the proof of payment. You will be fully responsible for any banking fees and/or costs required to complete the bank funds transaction(s). Furthermore, you acknowledge that the reservation may be cancelled by the hotel if proof of payment is not submitted to the hotel within the 24-hour notice period. You will be responsible for any cancellation or no-show penalties that might be incurred and hereby acknowledge that the booking and personal contact information provided is correct for the hotel’s validation purposes.

Pricing Errors

Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa reserves the right to cancel contracts based upon incorrect information being displayed in relation to price or service at any point in time.

Foreign Currency

Only the currency confirmed within your reservation is confirmed.

Rates

Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa works with dynamic rates, which means that the rates may vary accordingly to the hotel’s demand. Monte do Giestal always guarantee the best available rate to all direct bookings. All rates are inclusive of VAT.

Events

To all special events which take place at our panoramic event venue, including weddings or other festive events will be required a full pre-payment in order to confirm the booking.

  • Children ( 6y/o until 11.99 y/o): 20€ per night

  • Baby Cot: complimentary, upon availability.

  • Non Resident Guests: 12€

PETS
Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa is a Pet Friendly Rural Tourism, therefore your four-legged friends are more than welcomed at our property!
You can opt between this two modalitites:

  • Kennel: free of charge and subject to availability.

  • Stay in the Villa: an additional fee will be applied, per day.
    We apply this fee due to cleaning reasons and because we offer welcome amenities, basket, bowls for food and for water. If you wish to bring your four-legged friend, please contact us for further details.

Spa do Monte
SPA do Monte area was conceived to complement the accommodation and a good meal, or even as an opportunity to relax after all the energy spent on outdoor activities. Associated with the concept «Health through Water», Monte do Giestal also aims to provide wellness through the rural environment and by incorporating what is most characteristic of Alentejo.
SPA has a covered area spanning over 300 m2 and provides the following services:

  • Gym
  • Infrared sauna
  • Turkish bath
  • Sensations shower
  • Heated swimming pool with several sets of massages
  • Relaxation room
  • Massage room (*)
  • Whirlpool in Ofurö tub

O Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa also offers two outdoor swimming-pools, the larger for the adults and the smallest for the children. Please note that both pools are not supervised or heated, being monitored and treated daily with products suitable to maintain the desired pH, temperature, transparency, and chlorine level.

What are the pool’s usage rules? Children should be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times (in and around the pool area). Diving is not allowed. It is not possible to occupy the loungers with personal belongings during long periods of absence. Bicycles and pets are not allowed to enter in the areas surrounding the pools and the vegetable garden. We advise all our guests not to enter the water suddenly after long periods of sunbathing. The hotel is not responsible for any accident that occurs in these areas.

GENERAL INFORMATION

CCTV

In the public areas of the property and some staff areas CCTV is in operation and video recordings may be made. This activity is carried out for security and service reasons for the better management of the property and security for all its Clients and staff.

Photography and filming

All photography or filming for commercial purposes must be authorised by a member of the Hotel’s Executive team. No photography or filming must take place in any area of the property under any circumstances without the assigned representative from the Hotel. Hotel staff members and the Hotel uniforms or part thereof will not be used in the photography or filming and no staff role will be impersonated for the purposes of the photography or filming. Use of the Hotel brand name, commercial photography, Hotel images and the Hotel logo including trademarks or trade names requires the prior written consent of the Hotel. The Hotel will take appropriate legal action to restrain any misuse or unauthorised usage of the Hotel collateral listed above.

Intellectual property rights

All information, data and materials presented on this website, including names, logos, content, etc., as well as the colour scheme and the layout of the website, are subject to copyright, trade mark rights, database rights and/or other intellectual property rights. Such content may be used only if authorised by the Hotel and strictly required for permitted personal, non-commercial purposes. Any other use and/or reproduction of such content, without the prior written intellect of the Hotel, is prohibited and will constitute a breach of these Terms and may infringe the Hotel’s intellectual property rights.

Complaints Book

The Hotel has a Complaints Book. If the Client wishes to make a complaint, the Hotel always suggests that the Client first try to resolve the problem in a friendly manner by contacting the Hotel. If this is not possible, the Client must request the Complaints Book to formalize his/ her complaint. If the Client prefers, he/ she can do so through the Electronic Complaints Book Platform, a digital platform where consumers and users can submit requests for information to regulatory/ supervisory entities, submit complaints, suggestions, or praises to the economic operator.

Privacy Policy

The Company treats with great respect and seriousness the safeguarding of its Clients privacy. The collection of the Client’s personal information aims to meet his needs and assist the Hotel in enabling reservations requests. Personal information is deemed to be any information collected about the Client as an individual, such as name, address, age, gender, image, e-mail, telephone number, credit card information, preferences and specific requests stated before, during or after the stay, including digital correspondence exchange. This data will be collected only with the Client’s prior consent and processed in compliance with the European Union legislation on the General Data Protection Regulation.

Why is personal information collected: To present the Client a superior customer service – personal information is collected to assist the Hotel in making a reservation for a Client and in providing the services requested by him. By keeping this data, the Hotel improves the service delivered to the Client every time there is a repetition of stay. Holding certain stay related personal information on file, such as information regarding guest history and itemized spending, allows the Client and the Hotel to confirm prior transactions and reconcile statements or invoices. And also to keep the Client informed – the provided personal information may be used to send newsletters with novelties to the Client and also to inform him of promotions, offers or other information that may be of his interest. In order to do this, personal information may be shared with a third party, including a customer relationship management company and/or a marketing and communications company. These companies are under contract with the Hotel and are contractually required to protect all personal information to which they have access. If the Client wishes not to receive information from the Hotel, that request can be made on his registration card upon stay or through an e-mail to geral@montedogiestal.com.

Relocation

In the rare unexpected event whereby the Property cannot provide accommodation as previously confirmed, the Property will comply with its standard of obligation by undertake to relocate guests into an alternative property of equal or better grading at no expense to the guest. Should there not be a property of equal or better grading in the vicinity of the original booking, it may be required to provide guests with a property of a lesser grading. If this is the case, any reduction in costs will be refunded to the guest.

The alternatives offered are at the Property’s discretion. Should the guest wish to choose a property of a standard other than offered under this condition, then the guest will be required to pay any difference.

As a condition of your use of this Website, you warrant to Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa you will not use this Website for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. Although Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa may from time to time monitor or review discussions, chats, postings, transmissions, bulletin boards, and the like on this Website, Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa is under no obligation to do so and assumes no responsibility or liability arising from the content of any such locations nor for any error, defamation, libel, slander, omission, falsehood, obscenity, pornography, profanity, danger, or inaccuracy contained in any information within such locations on the Website. You are prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane material or any material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law. Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials.

Limitation of Liability

Notwithstanding anything contained in these Terms and Conditions to the contrary, Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa shall not be responsible for indirect damage, damage arising from consequential damage or special circumstances, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of profit, loss of use, loss of opportunity, arisen out of the performance or non performance of obligations under this Terms and Conditions.

Insurance

Monte do Giestal, Casas de Campo & Spa strongly recommends you purchase Comprehensive Travel Insurance. We suggest that the policy include, but not limited to, the following coverage – loss of payment through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage, loss of money and medical expenses.
